A Brief Note on Snoring, A Symptom of Sleep Apnea

Hi everyone my name is Monica. I’m your new dentist and I’m passionate about helping people actually see less of me by helping them be more in control of their health.

Let’s talk about sleep apnea. I’m sure you all know someone who snores.

I know I do (snore that is), but snoring is only one symptom of a condition called sleep apnea. Sleep apnea is actually a condition where you stop breathing for periods of time during the night.

You’ll ultimately then end up with destructive sleep and as an end result you end up being basically chronically sleep deprived.

And that can lead to symptoms like irritability, moodiness, depression and even more serious health side effects like high blood pressure or even stroke.

And I’m not sure if you’re aware, if you suffer from sleep apnea you’re more likely to have single vehicle car accidents – in fact seven times more likely to have them when you suffer from sleep apnea.

Now the good news is there are some really simple treatments nowadays that can help rectify sleep apnea. And some dental procedures can actually help that.

So if you have a sleepy, grumpy bear in your house, get them to give me a call.

You may well actually save their life.
